Without my three planners I am a hot mess.
My day goes something like this: I wake up, look at what I have to complete for the day, start with the most important tasks and work my way down the list. Then, I make sure to go through my day planner, editorial planner and a notebook that has my schedule in detail. I spoke a little bit about this a few weeks ago, but now I am going to tell you how I use each one to its fullest potential.
The Day Designer
This is an intense version of your regular month-by-month planner. It goes into each day by the hour. So, instead of writing random things that you have to achieve in a day, you go by the top three tasks, and then mark your tasks each hour (for example, you have an appointment at 3 pm so you write under that time “appointment”). Here is an example of it as well as a video to give you a better idea on how to use it.
This is the best thing you can do for yourself if you have a blog, website, YouTube channel or even a business Instagram account. It is hard to explain it so I will leave a link to check it out if you want to purchase it, as well as video that explains how to use it. I use it for my blog and it has helped me get to the idea of what I want to write about. It starts by asking you everything you want to achieve and who is your audience, all the way down to your month by month plan for posts and affiliate programs. Truly an amazing way to get into the details of your business!
I know, a plain notebook? Well, not so plain. This one is similar to the one that I have been using through January. The reason I say that, is because I write so much in it, that I think I will have to buy a new one for each consecutive month. I use this for everything; from learning something new online, getting ideas for my business, to a detailed overview of my days. This is how I make my plan – I usually give myself an overview of the things I want to accomplish for the year, then month-by-month, and of course week-by-week and then daily. The daily plan is prepared the night before and the weekly plan is prepared on a Sunday prior to the start of the week. This is the way I make my schedule work for me.
Is this reason enough to create a schedule for your life? I think so. I have started the year organized and successful more than ever before. I get more views on my blog, more things completed in a shorter period of time, and it all together makes me feel great! So, what are you waiting for? Find what works for and get your schedule started!
